Using essential oils does more than just filling the air with a wonderful scent, it’s aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is a term used to describe the inhalation or massage using an essential oil. It is a type of science that uses the essences from plants to balance, harmonize, and promote the health/healing of the mind, body, and spirit.
The use of aromatherapy can be traced back into the ancient times and among different groups of people. Now it has become more of a holistic approach.
Simply wearing the scent or placing it in a diffuser is aromatherapy to all who smell it. It is like being a beacon of change. Even though the different emotions felt throughout the day, with the different scents you allow yourself to work through the different emotions and bring about healing to your body.

Mindfulness is a term which describes being aware of your thoughts, feelings, sensations, and surroundings. It definitely takes practice. Essential oils help increase your awareness of your surroundings. Instead of ignoring emotions and pushing them to the side, essential oils help us work through the emotions. It is like an assist, you begin to feel differently.
Throughout my day (on a typical day) I use peppermint, lemon, and frankincense. Later, depending on how I am feeling, I might use orange, whisper, cedarwood. In the evening before work, I use frankincense and abundance. If guests are coming over I usually put on lemongrass, tea tree, or if it’s evening lavender (so they don’t stay up too late.)
I never knew a plant could have so many complex properties, which we take for granted most of the time. Living in a world so fast paced and focused on outward gratifications, we forget to “smell the roses” which could help us in so many ways. Putting on a scent daily at various times of the day or when certain emotions are stronger; watch the change over time, you will see and feel the difference.
